Sony has released the trailer for the upcoming horror film “ Resident Evil .” Based on Capcom’s hugely popular horror video games, “Resident Evil” is co-written by Shay Hatten and “Weapons” helmer Zach Cregger , who also serves as director. The film does not feature established characters from the “Resident Evil” universe such as Leon S. Kennedy or Jill Valentine, as Cregger aimed to create a new and original story . The plot will introduce a new protagonist—a courier delivering a package—who finds himself in the middle of a Raccoon City outbreak. The original “Resident Evil” was released as a PlayStation game in 1994, but was later made available on several different consoles.
