In January, we learned about an upcoming Philips Hue mode called SpatialAware. As of today, the “more natural and immersive” smart lighting feature has arrived. SpatialAware requires Hue lighting scenes to be remastered The new SpatialAware mode is now available as part of today’s Philips Hue iPhone and iPad app update. SpatialAware lets you “scan your room and let the app intelligently distribute Scene Gallery Scenes across your room for a more natural and immersive feel,” per the latest app release notes. Lighting scenes need to be updated to support the immersive lighting mode. To start, half of the available lighting scenes have been remastered for SpatialAware. The new Philips Hue Bridge Pro is required to power SpatialAware lighting scenes. Scanning a room usually takes less than 10 minutes, according to the company.
