I believe they are Dwarvish runes meant to signal the home of the dwarves that lived in the blue mountains.

I believe it’s Nogrod. It can’t be Belegost for the runes are marked north of the Lûne.

Anyone have other theories? I look at this map almost everyday, so it was exciting to see something I didn’t recognize at first.
