So I’m a bit confused on how anything gets licensed or released anymore in the way of physical media. For years, I’ve coveted my copies of John Woo’s Criterion releases of The Killer and Hard Boiled. When Criterion transitioned to DVD, I’ve been looking forward to eventually a re-release. Fast forward to 17 or so years, Shout! paid a lot of money for the Golden Princess movie library and in the past year have released some of these classics, which is great but I was bummed to not see a Criterion release. With this said, Arrow came out with their limited addition of Hard Boiled (which has a better sound mix apparently)which they got the license from Shout!
