Karl Lagerfeld’s Former French Country House Lists for $3.2 Million

Karl Lagerfeld’s legacy goes beyond fashion; he left his stamp on some historic homes, too. The late designer’s former estate outside Paris, known as Manoir du Mée, is now on the market for €2.7 million, or approximately $3.2 million. Lagerfeld purchased the property, located in the small French village of Le Mée-sur-Seine, in 1986 for an undisclosed amount. At the time, the busy fashion designer was only three years into his career as Chanel’s creative director while still designing for Fendi and helming his own eponymous label. The fashion mogul served as the couture house’s lead designer from 1983 until his death at age 85 in 2019. He was memorialized at the 2023 Met Gala exhibition , “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.” Naturally, the man who revolutionized fashion had exquisite taste in homes as well. Manoir du Mée, a 5,400-square-foot mansion, wasn't just beautiful but historic as well. The manse was built in 1749—40 years before the French Revolution. And it wasn’t Lagerfeld’s only notable home.…
