Southland The Ensign Directed by: Phil Lord, Christopher Miller. Starring: Sandra Hüller, Ken Leung, Lionel Boyce, Milana Vayntrub, Ryan Gosling I can sum up this entire review in three words — "watch this film". Project Hail Mary lives up to its hype in every way, as a science fiction odyssey and a character study, acted brilliantly with a slow burn plot which more than pays off. Ryan Gosling stars as Ryland Grace, a science teacher who wakes up on a space ship, entirely alone, suffering from amnesia. Slowly as he begins to remember more and more, the film cutting between the past and the present, things get strange, scary, funny and beautiful. I would recommend this film to anyone with eyes and ears and a beating heart in their chest. It’s a wonderful film. The highest compliment I can give it is the fact I would compare it equally to another "science fiction book about being trapped and alone in outer space turned into critically acclaimed film" — The Martian .…
