Found treasures may mean something different to everyone. For me, they come in the form of special home and outdoor gems I pick up at estate sales. From beautiful vintage planters and tableware to modern accent furniture, these pieces add a special touch of warmth and personality to my space. The combination of old and new makes my aesthetic super unique. “Estating,” the name I’ve given one of my favorite weekend hobbies to do with my mom, plays out in four parts. First, there’s the excitement of scouting out sales and hitting the road to find them. Then comes the rush of eyeing something—which is almost always buried under many other items—that you absolutely must have. Next is learning the history behind the piece, discussing price, and securing a deal. The final part? Bringing your treasure home and placing it in its rightful spot.
