The Switchbacks’ offense may have taken center stage last week, but their defense was dominant Saturday. After Colorado Springs scored the only goal of the match in the 26th minute, the Switchbacks held on for a majority of the contest to claim a 1-0 victory in their Prinx Tires USL Cup opener against Phoenix Rising FC in Arizona.  The defensive performance is a 180 from earlier in the season, when Colorado Springs conceded late goals in several matches.
