We’re More Connected Than Ever, But Somehow More Isolated

The strange thing about modern life is that most of us are constantly interacting with people, yet a lot of us still feel alone. You wake up and immediately check your phone. Messages. Notifications. Instagram stories. Tweets. TikToks. Group chats. By the time the day even starts properly, your mind has already interacted with dozens of people online. But despite all of that, there are still moments where life feels weirdly empty. And I think more people are experiencing this than they admit. These days, it’s possible to talk to people all day without actually having a meaningful conversation. Everything moves quickly now. Replies become shorter. Attention spans become smaller. Conversations get interrupted by notifications every few minutes. Sometimes it feels like everybody is present online but mentally somewhere else.
