About 10 years ago, I was making handmade kitchen knives as a hobby. My wife and I were watching a lot of Bravo back then and we decided to DM a certain chef offering to send him one. He actually messaged us back saying that he wanted us to design him one for him to sell.
Fast forward — I created the entire supply chain from start to finish for this knife to be designed and produced, my wife made the logos, etc. We were paid less than $500 for all this work and discussed multiple times with the “celebrity” to join him in a 65%/35% partnership. When the knives were finished, he completely ghosted us. We’d never signed any NDAs or confidentiality agreements.
He’s been selling these knives for 10 years and is now back on Bravo sporting clothing with the logo my wife designed. Do we have any grounds here for any sort of infringement or something?
