EQT AB raised its offer for Intertek Group Plc to roughly £8.9 billion ($12.1 billion) as it ramps up its efforts to acquire the British product-testing company.

The private equity firm has submitted a takeover proposal worth £58 per share in cash, it said Tuesday, confirming an earlier Bloomberg News report that it was preparing a higher offer.
