Hello, I (16f) am going to be taking math as an optional subject for high school mostly because my parents want me to and the fact that you can never get rid of math according to them.

I've never particularly struggled with math in my childhood but then the pandemic happened and I think that's where I fell behind somehow.

The problem is since math is only going to get harder from now on, I struggle to do basic (even single digits sometimes) arithmetic in my head, mostly adding and subtracting. I am okay with multiplication and division as long as I have it memorised.

I can understand concepts most of the time and can apply them to easy questions but something still hasn't "clicked" yet.

Any advice would be helpful as it will probably be useful for the rest of my life.
