I was just offered a senior position at a company 10 minutes from my house with a 30% pay bump over my current salary. I’ve been searching for jobs for the last 6 months, so I initially felt great about the offer.
However, after doing some more research, it appears the CEO’s last venture ended up with him going to prison for fraud. Seems like his last company was ripping off the bank with fraudulent chargebacks. During the trial, he was acquitted of other charges like conspiracy, wire fraud, and bank fraud.
I’m at a crossroads. I know people can change, but is it worth the risk? Does anyone have experience working for someone who used to be involved in white-collar crime like this?
