A woman has filed a lawsuit against the Boys & Girls Club of Southern Nevada, alleging that staff released her to a man who repeatedly sexually assaulted her when she was 9. In a complaint filed Sunday, the woman, identified as “Jane Doe,” said the organization touted child safety as a top priority yet maintained an “open-door” policy allowing children to leave the clubhouse without parental approval. In 2016, Boys & Girls Club staff allowed Dequincy Brass, then 33, to pick up the victim, according to the victim’s attorney, Shasta Brown. The complaint alleges that Brass took the girl to various locations, where he raped her and threatened to kill her and harm her family if she told anyone. The lawsuit said that Brass was formerly a member of the child’s household, but the Boys & Girls Club had been notified that he was not permitted to pick her up.
