May 5, 2026 at 6:00 am Updated May 5, 2026 at 6:00 am RANT AND RAVE Rave to all the great local outdoor venues with wonderful music in the summer. Rant to the enormous ticket costs and fees — we can afford to see only one concert! RAVE to the Roosevelt High School Jazz Band for their stellar performance at the Jazz Museum in New Orleans on International Jazz Day. We were there for Jazz Fest and finally caught one of their shows. It made us so proud to be from Seattle. RANT that the introduction of high-wattage, large speakers to vehicles has allowed an entire cadre of people to passively become disturbers of the peace, and to raise the cortisol levels of all within earshot. Yes, ordinances have been introduced in an attempt to curb this ubiquitous and inescapable behavior, but enforcement is tenuous at best. Perhaps the only way to get through to these people is to have a drum corps show up at their house and “serenade” them at 2 a.m.…
