Had genetic testing performed by provider without consent and against my documented wishes to check into costs prior to the test being performed. Location: Wisconsin I had a consult to discuss options for a health problem I was experiencing. During this consult, genetic testing was discussed, along with other alternatives. At the end of the appointment I stated that I would check into costs for the genetic testing, and if the costs were too high, would go with other options given. I was asked to call back with my decision. Before I was able to find out the costs for the genetic testing, I found out that the test had been performed against my wishes-when a nurse called me with results. I disputed this with the clinic and received a letter from them admitting that the the test was performed without my decision to proceed and that they were changing their processes to make sure that this doesn't happen to anyone else.
