The release date has been announced for Nimrods , the new coming-of-age film inspired by Green Day ’s early days. Co-produced by the band, it will follow three friends who embark on a road trip in the mistaken belief that they have secured a Green Day support slot at a New Year’s Eve show. The events of the movie are inspired by the group’s real-life adventures on the road before their 1994 breakthrough album ‘Dookie’, and last month it was confirmed that it had been renamed as Nimrods , in reference to Green Day’s 1997 album ‘Nimrod’. It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last year under its previous title, and earlier this week (May 12), production company Inaugural Entertainment announced that Nimrods will be released in US cinemas on August 14.…
