Sir Keir Starmer has said he takes responsibility for Labour’s disastrous local election results , as the party haemorrhaged seats across the country. Amid growing questions over his ability to carry on as prime minister, Sir Keir said there was “no sugarcoating” the results, admitting: “That hurts, and it should hurt”.
