A few years ago, the extremely young North Carolina musician Ash Blue Gutierrez signed to Interscope and emerged hyperpop's great teenage commercial hope. Glaive still hasn't taken off as a straight-up pop star, though god knows there's still time. He's doing fine. At the moment, Glaive is three albums deep, and he just turned 21 a few months ago. His last solo album last fall's Y'all . Today, he announces a new album that he made with longtime collaborator Kurtains. Glaive and the Welsh producer Kurtains have been friends since the two of them were in school, and Kurtains was one of Glaive's prime collaborators on Y'all . Now, they've joined forces to make a new LP called God Save The Three . Lead single "The Troubles," which does not seem to be about bombs over Belfast, is jittery-robot bedroom-pop with a house beat.
