VANCOUVER, B.C. — When it comes to the upcoming FIFA Men’s World Cup, there is only one section of North America that has two venues hosting games closer than the 140-mile stretch between Lumen Field in Seattle and BC Place in Vancouver. The experiences on either side of the 49th parallel for fans, though, are likely to be significantly different. And in Vancouver, that means expressing a very Canadian sense of pride, community and gathering. “I feel that I want to do the best that I can for the city that I was born and raised in, and then also the country that I’m very passionate about as well,” said Jessie Adcock, the CEO of the Vancouver World Cup organizing committee. “So for me, it’s really important to be able to kind of bring everything that I have to the table and just showcase us in a way that makes the whole country proud.” Of the 13 matches in the World Cup being played in the Pacific Northwest, Vancouver will host seven during the month of the tournament.…
