Am I right to be a little annoyed by a tech doing work I didn’t ask for and wasn’t disclosed to me? I took a guitar into a local shop I’ve used lots of times for a rewiring job that was out of my skill range. We discussed the setup I wanted and about a few days later I got a phone call from the tech who created the work order telling me the setup we discussed wouldn’t be able to work and offered other options. We agreed on one and that was that. Then when I go to pick it up I notice there’s additional notes in the emailed receipt saying that in addition to the rewiring we discussed (which is fine, no issues there), they had also tightened the truss rod, set the pickup height, set the string height, and checked the nut and intonated it. None of those things were ever discussed or disclosed to me at any point, and when I took the guitar out of its case it was in E standard, when I keep it in C standard. So I’m worried the guitar is now set up in a tuning two full steps higher than what I use this guitar for.…
