Ingredients: Chives including flowers (0 cost as perennial plant was given to me) Purple sprouting broccoli (seeds cost GBP £1.39) 'Charlotte' variety new potatoes (0 cost as seeds were given to me) Nettles (growing as weed in garden) Spring onions (seeds cost GBP £1.39) Lovage (perennial, seeds cost £2.14) Additionally I used some olive oil, a medium onion (I don't have much luck growing them unfortunately), a vegetable stock cube, and some miso and sea salt. When you take into account the additional produce I will get from the approx. £4 worth of seeds, I suppose the entire pan of around 3 bowls of soup must have cost me roughly £1. Also very healthy and pretty tasty if I say so myself! If I can crop some leeks later in the year I will make leek and potato soup with lovage, which is a flavour sensation you will never otherwise experience, given that lovage is rarely if ever available commercially, at least here in the UK.…
