I sat crouched by the water waiting for the right subject … to walk over the water in the right spot to achieve the composition that I wanted. I decided to flip the image upside down because I find that it creates a pleasing abstraction. “One of the things that I find interesting about photography as an art form is its ability to create abstractions from our reality. I wanted to create a photo that takes the viewer a moment to figure out what is happening before moving on to the next thing. I enjoy the challenge of finding small, overlooked details in a familiar place and crafting them into an interesting photograph.…
