The simple act of sitting on a chair in a darkened room can take on a whole new meaning under a certain light.

“Turn on the light. Take your seat. Turn the page. Turn off the light.”

These written instructions direct visitors to sit at an installation titled “Darkness, Afterglow” in WHAT Museum’s group exhibition “Corrugated/Coral — Eight Practices to Project Architecture Afar,” on display until Sept. 13. The show features work by eight teams of architects: Altemy, Office Yuasa, Garage, Group, Domino Architects, Toshiki Hirano, Rui Architects and Tetsuo Hatakeyama + Taiki Yoshino + Archipelago Architects Studio.
