I am trying to add a standard 22.5x 54 attic hatch to a more convenient location in the house. The issue is that it is a stacked 2 story so it has to be over a small landing at the top of the stairs. and when you get into the attic the options are further limited. So I am wondering if it is ok to add the hatch right underneath some cross bracing.

The picture shows where I want to add it. Red is the joists. Green is the wall. yellow is the proposed hatch. The joists are inside the cross bracing and do not connect (bracing connects to top of wall.

Is the reasonable? The only other option would be to do a 22.5x33 hatch on the far side of the bracing but would prefer a full sized if possible.
