Published 12:42 pm Thursday, May 28, 2026 Construction is now fully underway on the final phase of the Wilson Avenue Corridor Project in Bend, with road closures in place near the railroad crossing east of downtown. Wilson Avenue is closed between Ninth Street and Centennial Street while crews complete railroad improvements coordinated between the city of Bend and BNSF Railway. The work includes replacing track and signal equipment at the crossing, along with adjacent roadway pavement and sidewalks. Detours direct drivers south on Third Street, east on Reed Market Road and north on Ninth Street. The city said the work is expected to continue through July. The current construction marks the fourth and final phase of the Wilson Avenue Corridor Project, which has focused on improving pedestrian and bicycle safety along the corridor.
