Xiaomi’s T series has always been the reliable middle ground. You get most of the good stuff, minus a few features saved for the pricier models. This year, Xiaomi is closing that gap. The Xiaomi 17T Series just went official at an event in Vienna, and both phones are picking up something the T lineup hasn’t offered across the board before. With the Xiaomi 17T Series, the Leica 5x telephoto camera comes to both the 17T and 17T Pro for the first time. On last year’s 15T, that telephoto was a Pro-only feature. Now both models ship with the 50MP telephoto lens, OIS, 30cm macro support, and up to 120x AI Ultra Zoom. The other new addition is Leica Live Moment. It captures the motion leading up to a shot rather than just a single frame. The 17T Pro also gets 8K video recording, a first for the T series. The two phones are now different sizes.
