Brewing coastal storm may slam the Northeast with weekend washout

Heavy rain will usher in an unseasonable cooldown across the Northeast and New England, ahead of a brewing coastal storm that could deliver another shot of soaking rain to the northeastern portions of the Interstate 95 corridor this weekend. This comes after an initial shot of rain blasted the Mid-Atlantic and the Northeast late Wednesday. Another round of heavy rain spread across the region by Friday, with 1 to 2 inches possible through Friday night. Localized pockets of 2 to 3 inches of rainfall will be possible, particularly across New Hampshire and Maine.  While no official flood outlooks have been issued, the FOX Forecast Center said there is a chance for some isolated flash flooding. Behind Friday’s rain, a storm is expected to develop off the coast of North Carolina that could evolve into a nor’easter and bring more soaking rain to the northeastern parts of the Interstate 95 corridor this weekend.…
