Casely is a brand probably best known for its phone cases and MagSafe-compatible accessories. But last year, the company had to issue a recall on one of its most popular products. Now, following a death and a mid-flight explosion, the Casely Power Pod recall is back and a lot more urgent than the first time around. The Consumer Product Safety Commission and Casely reissued the recall on April 16 , covering 429,200 units of the 5,000mAh Power Pod (model E33A). Casely updated the hazard language to reflect that the lithium-ion battery can overheat and ignite, posing a risk of serious injury or death. The original Casely Power Pod recall came on April 17, 2025. This was after 51 reports of the battery overheating, expanding, or catching fire. There were also reprots of six minor burn injuries.
