Awards-show-friendly British pop star RAYE released her preposterous (complimentary) album This Music May Contain Hope back in March, and she's been promoting it out on the road this year. Now it seems she'll be channeling that record's theatrical energy in an actual movie role. RAYE has been cast in Lineage , a new thriller from Top Boy and 71 filmmaker Yann Demange, Variety reports. Though she had a cameo as herself in the Netflix limited series Black Rabbit last year, this will be RAYE's first acting role. She's joined in the topline cast by Isabelle Huppert, Dali Benssalah, and Adam Bessa. Written by Written by Enda Walsh based on a story by Demange, Lineage reportedly follows Tariq, a London-based father rebuilding his life after prison, whose brother draws him back into the criminal underworld and the orbit of their crime-boss mother. Principal photography is set to begin in London in August.…
