C-Kore Systems Limited from Escrick, York, has been honored with The King’s Award for Enterprise – Innovation 2026, recognizing the company’s outstanding work in the field of optical fiber testing of subsea systems. This achievement marks C-Kore’s fourth award in just over 7 years, having already received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise – Innovation in 2019, The Queen’s Award for Enterprise - International Trade in 2021, and The King’s Award for Enterprise – International Trade in 2024. C-Kore is the global leader for testing subsea umbilicals and cables, using automated test equipment in water depths up to 3,000 meters. In 2020, C-Kore started the design of a Subsea Optical Time Domain Reflectometer unit (SOTDR) to measure optical fibers subsea, launching their first prototype in 2022.
