I'd like an AC at some point (which i can't afford for a while). In the meantime time I was curious if anyone had any affordable alternatives to keeping heat out? I still want to let light in so that I don't have to have the lights on all the time which also increases the tiny apartment's ambient temperature. How reflective are reflective films? Can they be dangerously glaring to planes or drivers? How about tinted UV film- does it still let in a reasonable amount of light? I only have windows on one side of the apartment so the lighting already sucks- especially in winter and cloudy weather. For now all I have is a very small open window with a desk fan beneath it. But I want to be able to keep heat out and not just blow air around. I have a cat and I'm worried about how the heat affects such a fluffball.…
