Nominations are out for this year's Ivor Novello Awards and Olivia Dean, Lola Young, Lily Allen and Jacob Alon are among stars in the running for recognition. It is the first time chart-topping Dean and Brits Critics' Choice Award winner Alon have been nominated by the Ivors Academy. The awards are coveted in the UK music industry because they specifically recognise the importance of songwriting. This year marks the 71st Ivor Novello Awards and a ceremony will be held in London on 21 May to celebrate the cultural impact and enduring importance of songs and screen compositions. This year also marks Lola Young's fourth Ivor nomination, after she received three last year. Music stalwart Florence Welch also receives her fourth nomination, and for Lily Allen it's her third, with West End Girl, her first album in seven years, nominated in the best album category.
