My previous question led me to do some research, which led me to finding out that a lot of shingle companies won't honor warranties for 'hot' roofs: Roofs over unvented conditioned space, where the insulation is sprayed under the roof deck. I swear, this house... We had planned on Corning Duration, but found out they'll only issue a standard warranty for our setup, no matter which company installs the shingles. As it is, it still may be our only bet. We had hoped for a high wind, really good quality shingle, but now I'm afraid we won't have a lot of choice because of our roof type. All I want for once is a roof I don't have to worry about. And we're not rich...I can't afford to replace all the decking if it's good, just to convert to a vented attic. Not with our HVAC in the attic. Can folks provide some recommendations for shingles, particularly with companies that won't void a warranty because of being a 'hot' roof?
