Strong winds swept across Japan on Monday, part of the Golden Week holidays, disrupting transport services and prompting weather warnings throughout the nation as a rapidly developing low-pressure system moved eastward across the country. The Meteorological Agency said the system, accompanied by a front, intensified as it moved over the Sea of Japan, bringing bands of heavy rain and gusty conditions from western Japan into the Kinki and Kanto-Koshin regions from late Sunday through Monday morning.
