Otago Cricket boss Mike Coggan has resigned. He will step down later this year as the current longest-serving Major Association chief executive in New Zealand cricket, having spent 11 years in the role. In a statement from the Otago Cricket Association today, board chairperson Russell Mawhinney said Coggan had provided excellent leadership and a steady hand throughout this time, with a particular focus on repositioning Otago Cricket into a financially sustainable organisation. “Mike has been a great steward of Otago Cricket. Through his strong work ethic, disciplined financial management and clear strategic focus, Mike has placed the organisation in a sustainable financial position today. “He is shifting to Christchurch later this year for family reasons, and he goes with our best wishes.
