A team of British army medics and paratroopers airdropped onto the remote Atlantic island of Tristan da Cunha Saturday to render aid to a UK nations who is believed to have contracted hantavirus on the MV Hondius cruise ship. The unidentified Briton, who lives on the island located more than 6,000 miles from the UK, disembarked from the virus-stricken ship on April 14 and reported symptoms including fever and diarrhea starting two weeks later. He’s currently in isolation and reportedly in “stable” condition, BBC writes. The British Army conducted a historic operation Saturday on a remote Atlantic island, dropping in six paratroopers and two medical clinicians as well as over 3.5 tons of supplies.
