Former World series champ Jason Heyward retiring (0:54) World Series champion Jason Heyward officially retired on Friday after a 16-year big league career. Heyward, 36, played for five teams after breaking in with the Atlanta Braves in 2010. His final stop came in San Diego last season where he appeared in 34 games for the Padres. He won his first World Series ring with the Chicago Cubs in 2016, where he signed an 8-year, $184 million contract before the start of that season. It remains the largest deal in franchise history.
