While I’m not technically an expert on a) having kids, or b) wallpapering a room; I pride myself on knowing a great bolt of kids wallpaper when I see one. My criteria for the top-tier designs is as follows: Is it cute? But more importantly even, is it something you and/or your kid won’t get sick of down the line? After all, swapping out wallpaper at the same rate that they outgrow their Gymboree isn’t a sustainable practice. (For example: My doting mother allowed me a “merlot” accent wall in eighth grade that haunted me through my college years.) While there’s many a darling roll of kids wallpaper in the decor-sphere, I grow weary of the cartoonish line drawings of circus tents, metallic misses, and enormous floral watercolors. I want something that looks hand-painted, leans farmhouse -chic, or challenges ubiquitous pale ginghams (even though we know and love them).
