Silicone vs caulk for gap where quarter round meets tile floor I have small area where a bathtub meets the wall. Due to younger kids being terrible at positioning the shower curtain, we had sub floor damage that was repaired. I’ve replaced the wood quarter round with a PVC quarter round and am preparing to paint. Because the angle of the floor (due to imperfect floor tile setting and thicker grout up to the wall), the quarter round has a small gap under it that I want sealed as this was the corner where the water collected. I’ve read about the pros and cons of 100% silicone vs caulk (Dynaflex 230). Silicone will have better water protection and resist shrinking. Caulk will be easier to apply. For such a small strip, should I just use the caulk? I don’t expect water to be there often, but would like some protection in case a user gets sloppy. I’ve read that the silicone is less user friendly and harder to get just right.…
