Published 6:45 am Monday, May 11, 2026 Models walked down a runway at the Pavillion skating rink in Bend Saturday evening, wearing clothing lovingly made from rubbish. Worn-out tents were constructed into a cape and climbing rope core was crocheted into a dress. The evening marked the 14th Rubbish Renewed Eco Fashion Show, where designers transform junk into fashion and promote sustainability by doing so. People crowded around the edges of the Pavillion’s rink, looking to the stage. Outside of the rink, vendors sold jewelry, makeup bags and more at a series of tables. Several food trucks sold dinner off to the side of a fashion walk made up of garments featured in past years of the show. Designer and model Kaia Chopra, an 18-year-old student at Summit High School, crocheted her dress made of climbing rope core, or the material inside the climbing ropes.
