The No. 13/17 Virginia Tech Hokies waited until the third to finally plate a run against the Syracuse Orange in their 13-2 victory on Saturday to clinch the final conference series of the season. It was a record setting day for the Pete D’Amour led maroon-and-orange, but it took a few innings for that to come to fruition, as the Orange struck first in the opening frame.
