Producer Vashu Bhagnani of Pooja Entertainment, who produced Biwi No 1, with director David Dhawan, recently filed a suit against Tips Music Limited and other connected parties, to protect their films and songs from unauthorised use, before the release of Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, which is produced by Tips and directed by David. The Hon’ble Court of Civil Judge (Senior Division)-I, Katihar, Bihar has directed the parties to maintain the status quo for now. Addressing the issue, Vashu, in a chat with ANI said that this was a “victory for all producers” as he explained the issue. He shared that for decades, the Hindi film industry worked on faith, where contracts were drawn up, but producers and other parties relied on their word when making deals.
