As Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg pushes the company deeper into artificial intelligence, employee layoffs continue to mount. Nic Coury/Associated Press Meta’s 10% workforce reduction affected at least 3,196 Bay Area workers, according to additional state filings that showed one of the region’s biggest job losses in years. The tech giant cut 2,212 jobs at its Menlo Park headquarters and an additional 313 jobs at 1180 Discovery Way in Sunnyvale. Those notices come on top of earlier filings that showed cuts of 338 workers in Burlingame, 252 in San Francisco and 81 in Fremont. Meta also said 74 employees were laid off at 12105 E Waterfront Drive in Los Angeles’ Playa Vista neighborhood.
