Three King County residents were potentially exposed to the type of hantavirus linked to the cruise ship hit by a deadly outbreak last month, public health officials announced Tuesday. None of the King County residents had tested positive for the virus as of this week, and no one in the county has reported symptoms, according to a statement from Public Health – Seattle & King County. Risk to the general public remains low, health officials said. According to the health department, two of the Washingtonians were sitting on an airplane near a cruise ship passenger who was sick, and who was later removed from the plane and tested positive. Both residents have returned to King County, and are being monitored at home. They have not experienced symptoms. The third King County resident was a passenger on the MV Hondius, and is also asymptomatic and being monitored with other American passengers at the national quarantine center at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.…
