Ex-Bishop Gorman WR selected in 3rd round of NFL draft

April 24, 2026 - 7:13 pm Former Bishop Gorman High wide receiver Zachariah Branch was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the third round (79th overall) on the second day of the NFL draft in Pittsburgh. Branch, considered a Day 2 prospect by most draft gurus, was arrested early Sunday morning in Athens, Georgia on two misdemeanors for obstruction of a law enforcement officer and obstructing a public sidewalk. Branch was released shortly after being booked into Athens-Clarke County Jail on $39 cash bail. There are no further updates as to when Branch is due in court. This is a developing story.
