The state track & field championships begin Thursday and run through Saturday at Jeffco Stadium in Lakewood. Here are some of the storylines to track from the Colorado Springs area. Queen for another day? Alexa Queen will look to cap her time at Fountain-Fort Carson with a potential double in the hurdles. Queen enters with the top seed time in the 300-meter hurdles (42.29 seconds) and is second at 100 (13.98, narrowly trailing Northfield senior Amber Calender at 13.75). Queen will run next year at Duke. Thomas MacLaren’s Sara Christensen will look for the same sweep in 2A, as she enters with large seed-time leads in both races. Speedster from Canon City Gavin Reddick of Canon City could not only double up in the 4A 100 and 200 sprints – he enters favored in both – but his 10.57 in the 100 might put him in the mix for the best time among all classes.
