Tool News Quick Bites Stanley Closes Plant Due to “Low Demand” : I learned something new this week — that single-sided tape measures just aren’t popular. Well, according to Stanley Black & Decker at least. The demand is so low, in fact, that they have no choice but to close their last American factory that produces tape measures. Now, there is plenty of anecdotal evidence to argue against this popularity claim. If that’s what it took to move tape measures, every company with a double-sided tape would be announcing it in huge text on the packaging. You’d see ads highlighting the usefulness. Influencers everywhere would be explaining how it has saved them hours each and every day.…
