The actor died on Sunday, April 19 Patrick Muldoon’s cause of death has been revealed. According to his death certificate, the  Days of Our Lives  and  Melrose Place star died of a heart attack , technically referred to as a myocardial infarction, on April 19 at the age of 57, People Magazine reports. Pulmonary embolism and hereditary coagulopathy were listed as underlying causes. Coagulopathy is a genetic condition where the body’s ability to form clots is impaired, which can lead to excessive bleeding or excessive clotting. A pulmonary embolism is a blood clot that blocks blood flow in a lung artery, according to the  Mayo Clinic . Muldoon was cremated on Tuesday, April 28.
