Four years after the release of his album Oxy Music , charismatic Australian smartass Alex Cameron has returned unto us. Last year, Cameon broke a longish silence with the release of a very silly, very catchy single called " Short King ." Last month, he followed it with the eat-the-rich song " Statue Down ." "Short King" sadly doesn't appear on Late To Set , the new album that Cameron just announced, but "Statue Down" does. According to a press release, Alex Cameron recorded Late To Set after a period of unspecified personal upheaval. He worked on the LP with help from producers like Mark Perkins, Zach Dawes, and Maxim Ludwig, but Cameron is the sole credited producer on his new single "Red Hook Rain." It's a widescreen '80s-style synth-rock choogle-chug that makes me want to speed down a desert highway with my windows down. Good song, is what I'm saying.
